Kristen Griest is a former United States Army officer who made history as one of the first two women to graduate from the U.S. Army Ranger School in 2015. She was born on August 22, 1989, and grew up in Orange, Connecticut. Griest attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she studied international relations and served as a platoon leader in the 4th Infantry Division.
In addition to her groundbreaking achievement at Ranger School, Griest also served as a military police officer in Afghanistan and received numerous awards for her service, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
After leaving the military, Griest completed a Master's degree in International Relations at Georgetown University and currently works as a writer and public speaker, sharing her experiences and insights on leadership, diversity, and women's empowerment in the military. She continues to inspire others with her dedication, courage, and commitment to breaking barriers for women in the armed forces.
